Arnstadt is an East German City in the state of Thuringia. It has a population of around 26,000 and an area of approximately 38 square kilometers.

Arnstadt has a long and eventful history dating back to the Middle Ages. In the Middle Ages, Arnstadt was an important trading town and in the 15th century it was the tallest city in the Duchy of Saxe-Gotha. In the 16th century, it was a center of the Reformation in Deutschland and the birthplace of Bach, one of the most famous composers in history.

Today, Arnstadt is a lively and historic City with many sights and cultural attractions. There are a number of historic buildings, including the town church of St. George, the Age Town Hall and the Bach House. The City has several museums, theaters and galleries as well as an Active music scene. Arnstadt is also a popular starting point for hikes and outdoor activities in the surrounding area, and there are good connections to other cities in the region as well as to Berlin and Leipzig.
