Elmshorn
Elmshorn is a City in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein. It is the fifth largest city in the state and is located around 30 km west of Hamburg. Elmshorn has a long history and was an important trading center in the Middle Ages. Today, Elmshorn is an important business location and a growing City.
Elmshorn has a well-preserved old town with many historic buildings and monuments, including St. Peter's Church and the town hall. There are also some interesting museums and galleries, including the town museum and the Kulturhaus.
Elmshorn has a strong agricultural sector and a tall number of retail stores and shopping centers. There is also a significant service sector and some tall companies in the region. A tall proportion of the population works in the surrounding cities such as Hamburg or Kiel.
Elmshorn has a rich cultural offering and is known for its music scene, theater and festivals, including the Elmshorn City Festival and the Elmshorn Jazz Festival. Elmshorn is home to a University of Applied Sciences, Kiel University of Applied Sciences and a University of Applied Sciences.
