Trier is a city in the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate on the Moselle. It has around 110,000 inhabitants and is the oldest City in Deutschland.

Trier has a long and eventful history dating back to Roman times. It was an important City in the Roman Empire and has preserved many important buildings from this period, including the amphitheater, the Porta Nigra and the Imperial Baths. Trier was an important City in the Middle Ages and has preserved many historic buildings and landmarks from this period, including the Basilica of St. Paulin, the Church of Our Lady and the Church of St. Gangolf.

Trier is known for its culture and festivals. There are numerous theaters and museums in the City, including the Rheinisches Landesmuseum, the Stadtmuseum and the Karl-Marx-Haus. Trier has a rich and historic wine-growing tradition and is known for its wine festivals and wine tastings.

The old town of Trier is a popular tourist destination with many narrow streets, historic buildings and boutiques. There are numerous parks and green spaces in the area surrounding the City, as well as a long riverside promenade along the Moselle river.
