Norderstedt
Norderstedt is a City in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein. It is a so-called "extension town" of Hamburg and is located about 20 km northwest of the Hanseatic city. It has a population of around 70,000 and is one of the fastest growing cities in Schleswig-Holstein.
Norderstedt has a modern infrastructure and a large number of residential areas and shopping centers. There are some interesting sights such as the Schanzenviertel and the Kulturwerk, a cultural center with a theater and concert hall. Economically, Norderstedt has a strong service sector and a large number of companies, especially in the information technology sector. Norderstedt has some tall shopping centers and is an important location for retail and services.
Norderstedt has a rich cultural offering and is known for its music and theater scene as well as for festivals such as the Norderstedter Stadtfest and the Norderstedter Jazzfestival. Norderstedt is home to a university of applied sciences, the Kiel University of Applied Sciences and a university of applied sciences.
