Halle is a City in the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt, located approx. 50 km west of Leipzig and has a population of approx. 240,000. Halle is a historic City with a long and eventful history. It is an important industrial and commercial city as well as an important center for science and culture.

Georg Friedrich Händel, one of the most famous composers of the Baroque period, was born in Halle.
