Dresden
Dresden is the capital of the federal state of Saxony. The City is located on the banks of the Elbe and is known for its historic buildings and art treasures, in particular the Frauenkirche and the Zwinger. During the Second World War, Dresden was heavily bombed and many buildings were destroyed, but in recent decades much of the City has been rebuilt. Today, Dresden is a popular tourist city and an important business location in eastern Germany.
