Neunkirchen is a city in Saarland with a population of around 40,000 and is the second largest city in the district of Neunkirchen.

Neunkirchen is known for its mining history. It was one of the most important production sites in the Saarland coalfield and was of great importance to the Saarland economy. Today, a number of facilities such as the F60 visitor mine are reminders of this past.
