Rendsburg is a City in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein. It is the district town of the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde and is located approx. 60 km north of Kiel. Rendsburg has around 25,000 inhabitants and is known for its location on the River Eider and its historic old town.

Rendsburg has a well-preserved old town with many historic buildings and monuments, including St. Jürgen's Church and the Age Amtshaus. There are some interesting museums and galleries, including the town museum and the Kulturhaus.

Economically, Rendsburg has a strong service sector and a large number of companies, particularly in the field of information technology. Shipping and the port industry are also important, as Rendsburg is an important transport hub between the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. There is also a university of applied sciences in Rendsburg, the Flensburg University of Applied Sciences.

Rendsburg has a rich cultural offering and is known for its music scene, theater and festivals, including the Rendsburg City Festival and the Rendsburg Jazz Festival. The City also has some interesting sights such as the Eider-Treene-Sorge lock and the Eider-Fjord shipping line.
