Weimar
Weimar is a City in Thuringia. It is the fourth largest City in the state and looks back on a long history and culture. In the 18th and 19th centuries, Weimar was a center of German culture and the location of important personalities such as Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Friedrich Schiller and Johann Gottlieb Fichte.
Weimar has a well-preserved old town with many historic buildings and monuments, including the Goethe National Museum, the Schiller House and the City Palace. There are also some interesting museums and galleries, including the Bauhaus Museum and the Duchess Anna Amalia Library.
Economically, Weimar has a strong service sector and a large number of businesses, particularly in the fields of culture and tourism. Weimar is also an important education and research location with the Bauhaus University Weimar and several other universities and research institutions.
Weimar has a rich cultural offering and is known for its music, theater and festival scene, including the Weimar Theater and the Weimar Jazz Festival. Weimar has some interesting sights, including the Park an der Ilm, an important location for German Romanticism, and the Stadtkirche St. Peter und Paul, one of Weimar's oldest churches.
