Lübeck
Lübeck, also known as the "Queen of the Hanseatic League", is a charming City in northern Germany. The old town of Lübeck is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and impresses with its medieval architecture, especially the characteristic brick buildings. The city's landmark is the Holsten Gate, an imposing city gate from the 15th century.
The City is closely linked to the history of the Hanseatic League and was an important member of the Hanseatic League in the Middle Ages. This is reflected in the magnificent churches, such as Lübeck Cathedral and St. Mary's Church. The latter is home to the famous "Lübeck Dance of Death Fresco".
Lübeck is also known for its marzipan, which has a long tradition here. Visitors can taste and buy the sweet delicacy in the City's marzipan factories. With its rich history, imposing buildings and the maritime flair of the River Trave, Lübeck is a fascinating destination for culture vultures and connoisseurs alike.
